Install Windows on an external drive?

Is it possible to use BootCamp to install Windows on an external drive? My Macbook Air has only 120 Gig on the Hard disk (SSD).

MacBook Air (2018 or later)

Neither Boot Camp nor Microsoft support installing Windows on an external drive using Boot Camp Assistant. As Kurt said, if you have the necessary version of Windows you can install Windows on an external drive but not on a Mac using Boot Camp.

Only if you have the Enterprise edition of Windows. It is otherwise a restriction of Windows itself that does not allow for installation of the OS on a removable drive.
