How to connect new iphone XS wired headphones to Macbook with aux output?

The XS came with a wired lighting-connector headphone which does not connect to an older Macbook Air with an aux input. What do you recommend doing?

Of course another option would be to just use the airpods but if I am working on the macbook for 8+ hours a day, it is not good to continuously utilize the airpods. I would love to utilize the wired headphones instead.
