cannot sign into Apple ID

Hi all ,

I have just been given an iphone SE and it will not let me sign into my Apple ID, it will go into verify it, but flicks straight back to the log in screen......Help?

You should ask the person who gave it to you to carry out the process to disassociate the device from their Apple ID. They can find how to do it here. What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
