have you heard of any issues texting android gifs from XR? Didn’t have this issue with my 7 plus. Haven’t been able since I got it at launch (from telus). Apple & TELUS are both 🤷🏼♂️. 1 iOS update hasn’t fixed it. I even replaced the phone, same problem. Other people must have this problem too.

You are definitely not alone in this; I have been frustrated by this problem since I got the phone in December. From all the information I've gathered, I believe that this must be more of a Telus specific problem. This doesn't seem to be an ios issue, since I'm running the 12.2 beta and it is still an issue. Works ok on my IPhone to Samsung s8. Comes up as MMS though. Have they got MMS turned on the phone your sending it to? Ta
As far as I can tell, yes. Only the XR, and only on Telus and Koodo.
When I try to send a gif from my iPhone XR to an android phone it times out and doesn’t send it. TELUS says its an outstanding issue 😕. I’ve spent numerous hours with apple support & TELUS

It worked for me. I got charged 45p! So best you can’t do it as it’s not free!
Sorry to hear you have the same issue, but I'm glad it's happening to someone else too (i'm not crazy :-) . Hopefully a fix will come in the next ios update.

Apple gifs work excellent on a Apple iPhone. Android gifs work excellent on Android phones. What issues are you having?
Yes, it appears to be an iOS issue & have to wait for an update, just curious if anyone else has this issue. Is it just TELUS or does it happen to bell,or Rogers too?
