I recently purchased a new Silhouette Cameo 3 cutting machine, which uses the Silhouette Studio software. I updated the firmware but it doesn't show that a connection is there when I plug the machine into my MacBook Air. I have the software on a Mac Desktop running macOS Sierra and had no issue. Is this problem with the MacBook Air due to the OS?

Ok, so I just figured this out - yes, it appears (I'm not 100% certain) that Silhouette Cameo firmware dmg. files simply do not handshake with macOS Mojave. You click on it, and nothing. I saw this blog and she answered it for me and now it works beautifully. I had to resort to getting my husband's PC laptop and proceeded to upgrade to the latest v.1.60 firmware on that - connected to the Cameo machine and followed the prompts, and reconnected it to my Mac when it was all done.
