How can I manually change the date on my photos?

I want photos sorted by date taken rather than date uploaded. How can I manually change the photo's date?

MacBook Air (2018 or later)

Where did these photos come from? Usually the images have the correct date taken in the internal EXIF data.


But if the date is incorrect - like from a scanned image:

Select the ones you want to change and use image->Change date and time.

This will apply an offset. If that is not what you want, Leonie's script will let you set an absolute date/time:
