What is the difference between "Mirror Built-In Display" and "Use as a separate display"?

I don't know what happened or what I did (accidentally?) and now when I want to Airplay a yoga streaming from my Macbook air it won't show up on my TV!!! Please help! I have no idea what went wrong and so I don't know how to fix it! Thank you.

One is sending your Mac's screen as is to the Apple TV. Everything you do on your Mac will be displayed.

The other is extending your display. So you can show things on the Apple TV while you continue to do other things on your Mac.

If you are trying to just send a video you would need to make sure it supports basic airplay
