ibook map page

I am trying to add pin locations on a map page for ibook. I keep adding pins to show locations and they are dropping in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. When I drag them to the proper spot on the map they do not save properly. I need help getting the location to drop in the correct spot the first time I create the pin and keep it there so when the book is printed the pins are in the right location.
