Hey I was just wondering if you could connect your Apple Watch to your HomePod with AirPlay 2?

Operating AirPlay\ HomePod via Apple Watch Hey, I encountered some problems in regards to the airplay integration of my Apple Watch ( Series 6 ). The Apple Watch is not recognising the homepod as an air play device. Consequently I can’t use intercom, neither am I able to stream music from my Apple Watch directly on the homepod. Although I can operate the lights via the home app, and the HomePod is indicated as well it is not responding. The only possibility to stream music is select the iPhone in the play-now-app. But then again I can not select any specific music. I just can adapt the volume and stop the music. Every device is updated to the newest software. I would really appreciate your help .

Connection airpod to apple watch Can I connect my air pod to apple watch without my iphone nearby? I can do so with my macbook pro but the apple watch refuse to connect to the air pod!!!

No, that doesn't appear to be possible. As far as I can tell AppleWatch only looks for BlueTooth connections when choosing where to play music. See Listen to music and podcasts on your Apple Watch - Apple Support where the requirement to connect to Bluetooth seems fairly explicit.
