Where Did Applications Go in My Finder Sidebar?

Having dragged an application into the trash to delete it, Applications is no longer accessible in the sidebar of a Finder window. Such Finder windows that I have open include “Trash” or simply a “Folder” opened in the Desktop.

Why was removed?

Having restarted my Mac, it is now back, as shown below:

Try unchecking, then relaunch the Finder and check it again.

If that doesn't work, you may try dragging the icon directly to the sidebar.

By the way, instead of clicking the sidebar to open the Applications folder, you can use the shortcut: command-shift-A.

Regarding screenshots: the screenshots taken on retina screens end up huge here. When I have the patience to do it, I send them from the Screenshots utility to Preview, and use Tools->Change Size... to 50%.

I was replying to the post where you first showed a screenshot of your sidebar, in that screenshot it shows Favourites with nothing listed under it. This is because at some point you must have inadvertently clicked on Hide, so I was pointing out to you

to see your Favourites listed, move the cursor over to the right hand side and click on Show when it is revealed.

It's really easy.
