Where can I find the music used in Photos Slideshows Themes?

I often use Photos slideshows and I really like the latest music but now I want to make a movie that incorparates photos and video from our recent trip using iMovie. I'd like to be able to use some of the music from the Photos app but am unable to access it through the iMovie app or even iTunes. Searching through my Macs file system I am able to find the old iPhoto music but not the new Music with tunes form Hans Zimmer and Helios amongst others. Is there anyway to access this music or buy it from somewhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS I ahve tried searching my Mac using "Find any File" but it only brings up the old iPhoto music.

Hi, joanne,

I know that they are located somewhere, but can't find them offhand. I wasn't able to locate them in the Photos app Show Package Contents.

However, what you can do is create a slideshow in the Photos app and select the theme music that you want. Put enough random photos into the slide show to exceed the full duration of the song. Then share out the slide show as a movie to your desktop. You will now have an M4v movie containing the song. Drag that movie into a newly created iMovie project. Share out the project as an Audio Only file to your desktop. This is an option in the share out box. You now have the song on your desktop that you can drag into an iMovie project.

Thanks Rich! Genius solution :) Though I did do it a little differently in the end. I added the entire movie to the project I have been working on. Then I detached the audio from the video. I moved the audio to where I wanted it and deleted the video from the timeline. Now I have all the music I wanted and can manipulate it anyway I please.

Thanks so much for the suggestion!

Cheers

Joanne
