PDF display and printing issues under Mojave.

I have a PDF file that I saved (from web) with financial data in it. When I try to print it, the numbers are all garbage. I also noticed the same garbaged data when using Preview to view this file. I can successfully print this same file from my iPhone. I have checked for updates for Mojave and for my Canon printer. Everything is up to date.

pdfs will only print as gobbledygook from MacBook Air I bought my MacBook Air (M1) in 2020 and have always had problems printing pdfs. I have regularly updated the OS (now using Venture 13.3.1) but the problem never goes away! What happens is I get unlimited printed pages of gobbledygook and have to pull out the paper tray to stop it and then reset the print queue to cancel the job. My printer is a Samsung C48x series, driver version 3.0. If I restart everything – printer and Mac – I can sometimes get it to print one page, but never more. The printer works fine for printing other file types from my MacBook Air, and I can print pdfs from my iPhone and iPad, so it should be a very specific problem! I have recently deleted Adobe Acrobat from my computer and taken to using only Preview for pdfs, but I still have the same problem. Any thoughts?

Preview crashes when try to print pdf Is there a simple way to fix this? I just updated to Ventura 13.3.1 (22E261). When I try to print a pdf Preview immediately crashes (below is a sample crash log). I tried with two completely different documents, one of which I had previously been able to print. Crash. It crashes after a restart of Ventura. I cannot find Preview in the Apple Store so I can reinstall it, or update it, even though it is Version 11.0 (1044.2) from 2022. I don't have any other apps installed that relate to Preview or printing. I used a workaround to print one of the documents -- I exported the document from Preview as a .jpg and printed from Photoshop -- so there is no problem with the iMac connecting to my Brother LC71 series printer. I should not have to go through complicated steps either to print a pdf or fix Preview. The EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (SIGILL) 0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000000000 exception suggests a bug in the Venturi update OR that the updated Venturi is no longer compatible with the old (2022) Preview.

PDF not exporting but getting sent to printer Any document I try to "export" or "save as" for a PDF file. It gets sent directly to the printer and begins to print. The document is not saved but only printed.

I have isolated the problem to Firefox. I saved the problem pdf file using the Firefox print icon with the PDF save file option in the print window. This file has garbage in it. If I simply use the "save page as" option in Firefox, the result works properly. Am I simply missing something?

In any event, this is a non-problem for me now.
