Can I click on both 'Store the recovery key with Apple' and 'Do not store the recovery key with Apple' and keep the recovery key in case I forget my first three questions and use the the second option to unlock the drive?

I want to know if the recovery key is operable if I fail to answer the three questions to recover the key from Apple?
