Purple and green lines iPhone XS

Tonight my phone was working fine one moment and then had bright green and purple lines vertically on it the next. Tried to turn it off and then on screen went completely black but phone was still on. Reset the phone and updated but unfortunately the lines are still there. Does anyone know what this is?

It looks like a hardware failure, but we can't diagnose that kind of issues remotely.

Since your XS is on warranty, make an appointment at your most convenient Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider and have your device inspected. After checking it, they'll give you all the available options:
