can anyone tell me a great APA format writing software that works well on a Mac?

APA format is a structured writing style that you follow in your choice of word processor. Here is a 2017 video on APA formatting using a recent version of Apple's Pages. Some third-parties even offer APA templates for Word, and as long as they do not use Word macros, probably can be used in recent releases of Pages. Google for those with the most recent dates.

The APA has video tutorials and a Sixth edition Publication Manual about their style. That manual may actually be in the nearest library's reference section.
