My Majic Mouse looses connection w/the Mini when it sleeps...
I'm using a new Mac mini and a magic keyboard & magic mouse. The mouse looses connection with the mini when it goes to sleep. It's new. Think its defective?

As to the cable is only a charging device, after I wake the mini the curser and mouse are froze up.
So I've attached the mouse , thinking its got a low battery, and un-plug it, and its connected and working perfectly!
It was at 80% full.
It is a royal pain in the ***, but I think it just takes awhile for the mouse, wired keyboard, and display to make connection to a just awakened mac mini. Plugging and unplugging do nothing. I think that the mini wakes up after awhile and things work. After playing with this for the last 10 days and trying various HDMI (new fast speed) cables for my monitor and unplugging and replugging the keyboard, I finally decided to just move and click the mouse, press some keys, touch the power button once or twice and voila, I have all items connected. It has nothing to do with the cables and all the garbage. It just needs to wake up. Ridiculous for an Apple product.
What do you have to do to reconnect?
Try disconnecting all USB connected devices like heard drives since that can be a source of interference.
I have to connect the mouse via lightening cable to the mini and wait 3-5 min for it to connect.
No hard drives. For bluetooth attached I've got the keyboard, that's it.
The Lightning cable only charges the mouse. What is the battery level of the mouse? Maybe there is a problem with charging the mouse.
I have a hunch that the mac mini just doesn't wake up quickly. I have same problem and it extends to the display as well.
That might very well be the issue. If I do nothing after waking the mini, the mouse will start responding after 4-5
minutes.
If I plug it in, wait 10 seconds, unplug it, its connected and working. I just don't like having to do this
every time the mini sleeps/wakes. We all know that port & plug wears out.
