I keep getting a pop up add “Gifts for you.cf”p

I keep getting a pop up add “gifts for you.cf” and it’s getting frustrating. There is no place to opt out of the pop up add. How do I get rid of it? Help!

Pop-ups from where - when using third party Apps, or when web browsing with Safari or other browser?

You can generally inhibit pop-ups in Safari by enabling one setting on your iPad:

Settings > Safari > Block Pop-ups > ON

You can also enhance Safari with a “blocker” App - designed to integrate directly with Safari. Available blocker Apps generally come in two types - those which rely on a proxy connection (where block processing is external to your iPad - not recommended) or those which install a configurable rule-set locally on your device (a much better option).

One of the best and and independently recommended blocker Apps is 1BlockerX. An additional benefit of true blocker Apps, such as 1BlockerX, is the significant reduction in data downloaded; if unwanted content is blocked prior to download, pages load much faster - and if you’re using a Cellular connection, reduces the “hit” on your data allowance.

Alternatively, you could install and use a privacy focussed browser App, such as Firefox Focus. This has built-in blocking capabilities, but does not provide much in the way of configurable controls.

Pop-ups that occur within third-party “web based” Apps are impossible to suppress.

Hope you find this information helpful.
