Repair Corrupt Video Files?
Hi all. I have a damaged hard drive from my MacBook Pro. When I plug it in, I get a pop up telling me that my Mac can’t repair the disk, and I can only copy my files.
So, really the only valuable media on my hard drive were my photos and videos, and since the hard drive is damaged, some of the files became corrupted. The only way I could figure out how to recover any of the photos was to manually click show package contents on my iPhoto library (since it wouldn’t open) and drag each photo to my desktop. This worked with a good majority of my photos, but many of my videos got an error code 36. I tried doing dot_clean, but my guess is that it didn’t work because I’m unable to change any files since the disk couldn’t be repaired, and the videos won’t copy to the desktop because of the 36 error.
So, then I tried downloading an app on my Mac to repair the videos called Stellar, but when I went to go choose the video file, the photos library was “greyed out” and would not let me show package contents to gain access.
My question is, is there any way to repair video files from a disk that does not allow me to change the files, and won’t let me copy them to my desktop?
If Stellar had a click and drag option, the problem would be solved.
