is there a way that i can flip the camera on my apple watch from the front camera to the back camera?

Launch the Apple Watch Camera remote app, then Deep Press the display and you will have the option to

Flip between back and front cameras
Enable/Disable Flash
Enable/Disable HDR
Enable/Disable Live images

Your Apple Watch does not have a camera. You do have a remote control app for the camera in your iPhone, but it only has the shutter release and zoom functions. You need to select which camera and which mode directly on your iPhone.

Time for me to RTFM again, I had completely missed that but it is there... Use Camera Remote and timer on Apple Watch - Apple Support
