Iphone connect to itunes

My new phone will not connect to itunes. It is an iphone XR through verizon and I have a mac computer from 2011. I have newest version of itunes. After I accept truct my computer and iphone, i receive an alert that says I do not have permission. Any suggestions? Or who should I contact?
