Opening a second document in Pages on the iPad.

Is it possible to open two different documents in Pages on the iPad and have them side by side in order to work on them - i.e. updating Doc v.2 with data from Doc v.1?

No. You can only have one document in Pages opened at a time. There is no option to have a second instance of Pages opened.

However, if you have another App that can open the document, such as Microsoft Word for instance, you can have that app open one document, and Pages open the second document in Split view, and work with the documents at the same time.
