Does your problem occur when viewing ALL websites without exception - or just for certain website pages?

By “simple” view, are you referring to Safari’s “reader” mode - this only being available for some web pages?

The Safari “reader” view is enabled/disabled using the little icon, with four horizontal lines, that only appears in Safari’s address-bar for pages that support it.

I believe you may have inadvertantly set the Reader mode to “automatic” - which is why you always see the simplified view on certain (but not all) web pages.

Herewith some notes on using Reader mode (pay attention to the difference between “tap” and “touch and hold”).

Reader view formats a webpage to show just the relevant text and images:

Tap  at the left end of the address field.

To return to the full page, tap reader icon in the address field again.

Note: If you don’t see the icon, Reader isn’t available for the page you’re looking at.

To use Reader automatically:

  1. On a supported website, touch and hold .
  2. Choose to use Reader automatically on the current website or on all websites.

I hope this resolves your problem.
