My mouse loves to open drop down menus but aggressively so. I have to click a point very accurately to avoid getting drop down menu options

Using Mail or Safari on laptop, the drop down menus pop up relentlessly, interfering with work flow...

How do I desensitise this response?

Yes, you need to be sure to click far left. The only other solution is to disable secondary click in System Preferences. You can use Control-click when you need contextual menus.
