My system folder is 250 GB so half my disk, I upgraded to Mojave 10.14.1

my mail account crashes because it says my home folder is full and it cannot write anything on it. I have uploaded tons to icloud and now have 50GB of free space (before 36GB when it crashed) and my system folder is 250 GB so half my disk space... I am begining to believe that Apple has lost its mind and only works for phones, my computer search doesnt work and simply crashes and this is just crazy ...

Any one want o buy a refurbished Mac ?

Seriously can someone tell em how to get to my system file and what to relet to come back to a normal size ?

Yup my system folder says its 258GB then I re-indexed my computer and it went down to 32GB but swithched my ICLOUD file so it was then at turned to 250GB and my system folder started blowing up to 85GB auntil there was no more space... I changed my storage settings to keep everything on Icloud unless I was using it and I removed my McAfee virus scan (because everytime it scanned my computer thought I was using the file and put it back on my harddrive... well at least that is what I think was happening...

SO now I have my icloud at 250GB and storage to 35GB ... it works but its weird.

That will do it. No Anti-Virus software or so-called “cleaning” apps are needed or recommended for Mac OS. They can conflict with Mac's own built-in security. At best they will slow your Mac by using unnecessary resources and at worst will bork your entire system.

The Storage tab is known to report incorrectly. Also check by choosing your Mac HD and "Get Info" (command-i). It may be different. Try rebuilding Spotlight index.

Some of the space may also be from Time Machine Snapshots.

After you've freed up some space download Omni DiskSweeper:

https://www.omnigroup.com/more

DiskSweeper can give you a more accurate read of disk space than Finder or Storage Tab of About this Mac. It can also show you the precise size and location of all your files. It will inventory your disk starting from the files that take up the most space. If you want you can even delete files from OmniDisk Sweeper. But be careful some of the items may be important to your system.

Check Mail menu > Window > Connection Doctor. If you have check marked “Log connection activity” turn it off.

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, please see Apple Support Topic

Purgeable Space:

If you are using iCloud Drive those files are marked as Purgeable on your Mac, which means when you run low on disk space they will be overwritten.

Also, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:

iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash

In Photos: File Show Recently Deleted ▹ Delete All
