itunes playlists

How do I manually move songs within a playlist.  They keep going to wherever they want.  I was told to add them in the order I want them.  I have never had to do this before.

Hopefully, you are already looking at your Playlist as View As/Songs. That's the view you need. A view like this one:


Crucially, this is the default layout (notice that it's in song title alphabetical order. That's why you can't currently change the order). To achieve what you want, you need to change the sort order. Do this by clicking on the Header column above the numbers (and to the left of the tick header). The first click should add the arrow pointing upwards, like this view:


You should now be able to drag a song from one part of the Playlist to another.
