Bing overtakes my search engine?

When I search for something on my safari browser which is set to google search engine as my default search engine, bing take over. I have done some research but haven't found any thing that was able to help me yet. One person suggested that there is a Genieo thing on the computer but I can't even find that. The only extension that i have installed is Honey and it has been on there a long while before this problem started happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
