I have been abroad for several months and had a foreign sim card. Now I'm back in the UK I want my old UK number back but my iMessage and Facetime number is still the foreign number.
How do I change this number back to my UK +44 number?

Try de-registering it via the web site - https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage/
First I would turn off iMessage and FaceTime and sign out, then try deregistering the number it was using. Wait awhile and then try re-registering from the device by signing back in.
With your UK SIM in place, go into settings and sign out of both iMessage and FaceTime, then sign back in.

I have tried this already and it still doesn't seem to work. I will try and contact my provider but I doubt there are any restrictions in place.
