iPhone XS Max Headphone Sound Quality

Hi,

I've noticed that the sound quality coming from the phone when using the headphone jack adapter is pretty low. At first I thought it was just something in Spotify's settings but I checked with multiple apps and it doesn't seem to apply to Spotify only.

Is it the adapter that is damaged, does Apple purposely reduce quality when using the adapter for some reason, or why does this "premium" phone not put out quality sound when using it?

Thanks,

Phil

Hi there,

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your phone and the adapter. The sound of the iPhone after 6S plus is not the same anymore.

It might be clear and speakers also improved

but lacks the power and the bass big time from the lightning port.I am buying iPhone

every year since 2008 and now I have XSmax

and Literally very disappointed with the bass

quality and the audio output from the lightning port. The speakers sounds good but the audio output from the lightning port can’t

compare to 6S plus.

The 6S plus had a kick *** bass nice and deep and explosive audio output from the headphone jack. When bought the 7 plus noticed the difference right away it was lacking bass, then bought IPhone X and bass

got even worse, then XS max 256GB and the

bass quality is a total mess.it sounds more like

mid bass. The kick in the bass is gone.I am very frustrated cuz my last 2 iPhones I paid full retail prices $1725 CAD for X AND $ 1952 CAD

for the XS max and I am extremely disappointed.I have changed adapter, used a

friends iPhone XS Max, same thing no difference.
