iPad won’t back up to iCloud. I have plenty of storage space. iPad is plugged in and connected to WiFi. It starts to backup then stops. Keep getting message saying this iPad is not backed up. Any suggestions?

Sometimes it’s as simple as restarting your device. My wife's iPhone XR would not back up this morning and I couldn’t even shut off iCloud backups. I restarted and everything worked fine.
First, I would try turning off WiFi, restart the phone,turn on WiFi and then try a manual backup.
You might get some help here.

It can take time if it’s the first back up. Ta
No, I have it set up for automatic back up. It’s always worked fine in the past. iPad is a year old.
