I would like to add a additional eSIM. Need to be able to use all three providers in US. Have Tmobile(physical) and AT&T(esim) and would like to add Verizon.
Stopped at local verizon store and they didnt know how to add it when an eSim is already present. Thoughts?

While you cannot actually add another eSim the single eSim is perfectly capable of supporting more than 1 service line.
However only one eSim based line can be active at a time.

There's only one eSim builtin, you cannot just add another.

You can turn eSims/lines on and off as required.
There is no limitation there. Yes you cannot have more than 1 eSim line active at a time, but that's not what etchicago wants to do.

This can be done at any time.
That's not going to happen. It supports 2 lines. One eSIM and one physical SIM.
Why in the world would you need 3 lines from 3 different carriers at the same time?
Follow the steps in the support document i linked to above, under "Setup a Cellular plan with eSim" to add a new line. You add a new line like you added the previous one. Either scan a QR code, use the carrier's app to add it, or add it manually.
To start go to Settings->Cellular->Add Cellular Plan.

I don't need three at the same time. Use Tmobile as my personal number, ATT works in the office and at the data center(s) while others have no coverage. However lots of time spent in the country, and Verizon is the carrier of choice, I would like to be able to set second line / data to AT&T while at work, and to Verizon when not at work.
Correction - they knew how to add, just not add it at an additional (second esim) - they could not create a line for me to add without getting data from phone IMEI etc, and they tried using the esim data in the phone, but it didnt allow the creation (presuming because it was already in use by ATT.
Exactly, how do you add the additional esim, so you can switch to it.

This did resolve the item. Also worked with Apple support, this was an unknown issue for them, very helpful with the supervisor on duty called back to make sure it worked out.
OK... it could be done, but it's going to be a major PITA.
IMO, not worth the effort.

Get a cheap Verizon flip phone if you need to be able to make and receive calls in the field and there is no AT&T or T-Mobile coverage there.

That should work yes. Removing the line from the eSim does not actually cancel the service.
