can I upgrade a 30 gig.ipod to a 128 gig in a ipod classic

I want to upgrade my ipod classic 30gig. to at least 128gigs

Apple don't offer such a service (be good if they did...), but there are third-party kits to swap out the hard drive and put in larger capacity solid state storage, but it's not that simple.


These kits are designed for the iPod Classic, but a 30GB iPod is not a Classic, even though it might look like one. Even within the Classic range, some Classics can add huge amounts of storage, while other Classics only recognise the first 128GB, no matter how much is put in. Oh, and different models of Classic each use different hardware (that's the physical bits) to install the new storage.


Google upgrading iPod storage and see what you find.
