MacBook Pro 2017, less than 2 years and battery is gone...

Hi,

I have bought a MacBook Pro 2017. All of a sudden it started to shutdown when around 30-40% of battery left. Have tried resetting the SMC / NVRAM and nothing has change. What bugs most is: this:

$ system_profiler SPPowerDataType | grep -i "charge information" -A 10

      Charge Information:

          Charge Remaining (mAh): 453

          Fully Charged: No

          Charging: Yes

          Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 2055

      Health Information:

          Cycle Count: 113

          Condition: Normal

      Battery Installed: Yes

      Amperage (mA): 1757

      Voltage (mV): 12326

This battery has a design capacity of 4790 mAh! Less than 2 years, only 113 cycles and it has only 43% of its design capacity. Anyone has similar problem? Unfortunately I didn't buy Apple Care, though with such a premium brand it was only reasonable it would have a good quality a last 2-3 years...

Really disappointed with Apple...

Just got off from the phone with Apple. Booked a time next week so they can have a look. Running the diagnostics it shows error PPT007: The battery needs to be replaced. The battery is functioning normally but holds significantly less charge than it did when it was new. You can continue to use the battery until you replace it, without harming your computer.

I managed to book a time yesterday... Laptop has been left for replacement of the "top case", apparently the keyboard and battery are one single piece. It was going to cost around AU$550 but due to the Australian Consumer Law Apple honors the warranty of laptops for 3 years if you mention it, just to avoid the lawsuits... So it costed me $0. Now waiting, 5-10 days for the repair to be completed.

Got my laptop back yesterday. Battery (top case) fully replaced under Australian Consumer Law warranty!

The text on Australian Consumer Law says: "A reasonable period from date of delivery until the failure becomes apparent".

It seems that judges have been ruling in favor of 3 years as a reasonable period for laptops... So if it's within 3 years from purchase date, Apple honors the warranty if you mention the Consumer's Law.

It's not written anywhere publicly available, but on the iPad app the Tech Center guy filled my case had that particular question (Has the customer mentioned Australian Consumer's Law?). When clicked Yes, all the costs were zeroed.

Cycle count has increased by 1 (to 114) and Full Charge capacity has increased to 68% of the design... This battery is nuts!

As stated above, it is most of the time running on AC. No Apple official documentation states this is a bad practice. Also, it's been several years since battery calibration (full discharge cycle) is not an Apple requirement, although I done 2 over the weekend and the % left seems more accurate now.

I've always followed the recommendations/tips from these two apple pages:

It usually sits on my desk and I work with it connected to the power. Only when attending meetings or working on my bedroom that it runs on battery. It has never been completely depleted, it turns off at 30% without warning (around 2 hours).

Tried resetting SMC, NVRAM and none worked.
