iCloud Family Sharing is greyed out

So I just signed up for Apple Music after ending my family plan subscription on Spotify due to Spotify not being available in the country I'm moving to. I want to use Apple Music with my family hence I signed up for the family plan again, but when I go to my iCloud settings on my Mac, it's greyed out. Both my mac and iPhone are up to date in terms of software/iOS.

Please help!

Have you set up Family Sharing (not Apple Music Family Plan, but Family Sharing itself):

That was not clear in your original post. Make sure you meet the minimum requirements:

Get started

You can be a part of only one family at a time. Here's what you need to set up Family Sharing:

  • An Apple ID signed in to iCloud and iTunes
  • iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 8 and later, or Mac with OS X Yosemite and later

Also, read carefully through the support article to ensure you have followed the instructions completely. If you meet the requirements, and have followed the instructions, then you would need to contact iCloud Support for help: iCloud - Official Apple Support
