Mail app on iPod iOS 9.3.5

I just upgraded to iOS 9.3.5 from iOS 8 on my iPod Touch 5 and the mail app is not accepting my iCloud password but everything else is. When using mail I get errors in two situations:

1 - When I start the mail app it says that it cannot get mail because the iCloud username or password is incorrect. The user name is okay and re-enter the password and it does not accept it. I have done this several times

2 - When I try to send an email is displays this error:

The recipient " jdoe@yahoo.com" was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying.

It was working before the upgrade to iOS 9.3.5

What is going on?

Thanks,

Jack

Greetings, Jackcf!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!  It looks like you’re unable to send or receive emails after completing an update.  I use emails to communicate with friends and family, so I can understand how important this is.

If you can’t send or receive emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch has several steps that can help resolve this behavior for you.

If the email account that you’re experiencing this with is an iCloud.com email address, Get help using iCloud Mail will be helpful.

Let us know the results and have a great day!
