First, plug in your device. Don't worry about the "Unlock iPod to use accessories" message, make sure if it's up in your iCloud. If yes, make sure you remember the password so you can get pass Activation Lock. Do not try this if you have forgotten your password. If you don't have a iCloud acc, linked up to your iPod, great! :D

1

First, hold down the Home button and power button in till it has a Apple Logo.

2

Continue pressing the home button and let go.

3

Now it should have a iTunes logo in the centre in a black screen and a charger on the bottom of the screen.

4

Now go into iTunes then restore the iPod. Now just wait for it to restore. After that restore, it should come up with the set up, just like when you got it for the first time.

5

Now set up like normal when you got the iPod brand new in till it comes with Activation Lock. Skip to Step 8 if you didn't get the screen.

6

Make sure to have the password with you. Now put in your Email and iCloud acc pass into the password field.

7

If you have 2-factor-authentication, go to your other device like a MacBook or a iPad and allow to get the verification code. Put in the code when you get it. If you do not have 2-factor-authentication, it might ask to upgrade it. If you want to upgrade it, tap "Upgrade" but if not, just tap the other button.

8

Now just set up as normal again. If you still have Activation Lock because you forgot your password, reset your password at icloud.com

9

If it asks to set up as new iPod or restore from iCloud backup or iTunes backup, pick whatever. If it's new, just continue through the set up. If iCloud backup, if it prompts for Email and iCloud pass again, then give it the pass again. Just continue through again. Now find the backup you wanna restore then restore the whole thing. If you wish to cancel, tap "Back" at the top left corner. If you do iTunes Backup, plug in your device (if it is still plugged in, just leave it) to your PC/Mac then it should ask if you want to restore or set up as new. Choose the backup option and pick the backup. If you wish to cancel, cancel it by ejecting the device.

You're all set! Hope this helped you! :D (if it still has activation lock, just reset your password at icloud.com)
