Canon MG8150 scanner wont work with Mojave

following the recent Mojave upgrade on my Mac Book Pro, the Canon MG8150 scanner no longer works, there does not appear to be a driver update from Canon. Has anyone else had this issue and or found a work around/solution - thanks

It is not supported in High Sierra or Mojave. The last OS Canon supported for your device was Sierra, you could download the drivers for that and install them and see if it makes a difference.

Scroll down the page here, https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctionals/inkjet/pixma_mg_series/pixma_mg8150.aspx?type=drivers&language=EN&os=macOS%2010.12%20(Sierra)

Also have look at this page and scroll down to reset the printing system, If you can't print from your Mac or iOS device - Apple Support

Another thing you could try is open Image Capture, it's in your Applications folder and see if it sees your scanner.

If all else fails you could try Vuescan, https://www.hamrick.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMInanLo5WN4AIV7RXTCh0DwwFpEAAYASAAEgLiSfD_BwE

This morning I also encountered problems with my Canon PIXMA 7720 printer due to my using Mojave 10.14.3. However, thankfully, I did find a newer print driver, newer scanner driver and newer Canon Utilities apps on Canon's website. As a result, my printer is back to working again. It's a real bummer when we suddenly discover that our printers are no longer compatible with macOS. That is exactly what happened with my previous Canon printer, and I didn't even have it that long when it fell by the wayside. But, that's life, and there's really not much that we can do about it, except bite the bullet and move on.
