My comcast inbox emails were disappearing

My comcast inbox emails were disappearing. I thought the issue was with Comcast, they said it was with my iPhone. The settings they were referring to are not on my iPhone but ARE on my Mac. I think I have resolved the issue by opening mail on my mac, clicking on preferences, unchecking "remove mail from the server". This deleting of my mail is a new behavior so this check box must have gotten checked with the latest Mac update I've done. Thoughts?

Disappearing emails on iPhone and iPad On my gmail account as well as several other accounts maintained by my webhost, mesaages randomly disappear. It seems not to matter what email address sent the messages. They are visible one minute and then just gone, sometimes on both the iPad and iPhone, sometimes on only one or the other. If I search for the messages by entering a search term such as "gmail," the message is sometimes listed in the search results, yet if I try to select the message, nothing is displayed. The same messages continue to be displayed with no problems by Mail on my iMac.

deleting emails keep returning I use the Apple Mail app for my Verizon email (which is run by AOL mail). I deleted a ton of emails last night by clicking on each message and moving it to trash. This morning, almost half of it returned to my inbox. I've tried to delete the messages again, but they keep returning. Any thoughts or suggestions?
