I have an iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 12 and an iPad 4th gen. When I delete iMessages from my phone or from my iPad they also delete on all synced devices. I would like to delete iMessages from my iPhone and not my iPad.

You don't, since you're syncing your message on both devices.
It is working as it should.
Ok, it used to not delete the messages from my iPad. Is there anyway I can stop my iMessage being deleted from all my devices?
Then I won’t get messages on my iPad, right?
