Thanks for letting us know you were able to connect the iPhone 5c to a laptop with an older version of iTunes. With this version of iTunes you should be able to select Restore and have the iPhone restored to the factory settings with the version of iOS it is currently running. You can also erase your iPhone without using iTunes and without updating the iOS by following these steps: How to erase your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
