why isn’t apple ProRes supported on ipad pro?

A lot of people, including professionals are starting to grow an interest in editing video on the road with the iPad pro, one big major flaw though is the total lack of support of ProRes on iOs, most serious cameras out there record ProRes, since it is an working codec as opposed to a delivery codec like h.264/ h.265

Lumafusion and imovie are great tools but what can we do with them if the device cannot read our video files?

my ideal workflow would be to start cutting videos on an ipad pro on the road, export it to my mac pro so i can finish it on fcp x. That would be the main reason for me to purchase an ipad pro, a lot of professionals would be interested in this.
