My name in the Settings page is grayed out, meaning I’m unable to access it. How do I fix it?

I realize that my name in the Settings page is grayed out which means I am not able to access my iCloud, iTunes, Apple accounts. I hardly had reason to use this method and therefore never realized its misfunction. Only recently did I inquire how to manage my storage for iCloud that I found out that I did not have access to my Apple account by simply clicking my name. I need to know why it’s grayed out and how to correct it.
