Moving my contacts from Gmail to iCloud

So all my contacts are stored with my gmail account, so if i remove the gmail account from my phone, all my contacts goes too. So how do i move them from Gmail to iCloud.

If you can display both accounts in the Contacts App on your Mac you can select all the contacts and drag them from one account to the other in the side panel on the left.


Alternatively you could select all the contacts in Apple Contacts from one account and use the File > Export vCard...

Then you could import the vCards back in again to the iCloud account.
