Since updating to Mojave, I can no longer import video from my Sony HDR-CX130E to Imovie? Is my rather old camcorder no longer supported? Is there another way to import the video?

The Sony HDR-CX130E is not listed on the current list of iMovie supported cameras.

Instead of importing directly into iMovie you have two other options:

  1. Import into the Photos app. You can then access the videos from the Photos item in the iMovie media sidebar. The Photos library must be designated as "use as system Photo library" in the Photos app preferences. in order for iMovie to recognize it.

2. Use the Image Capture app on your Mac to import the videos to a folder on your desktop, and from there you can drag the videos into iMovie.
