How do I buy the Power User Package for EtreCheck?

Find it mentioned as top selling app under the EtreCheck free app, but can't find the PUP download.

EtreSoft website shows purchase handled by "Paddle", which comes up as a seller of a platform for small business software resellers, but no direct way to download or pay for the Power User Package. Love the

EtreCheck diagnostic, just can't find/download the Power User Package.

Mac Pro, 10.13

I'm not confused over "Pro" name; have EtreCheckPro & looking to add Power User Package. 3) To keep it simple, suggest you go to the Apple AppStore & show me (provide me a link) where there is a button or ability to pay & download the Power User Package.
....They say the Power User Package isn't really any different from the text version provided by EtreCheck. But they also say that EtreCheck cannot remove Adware, only give you ideas as to what to do, whereas the Power User Package
can remove adware w/the touch of a button, plus easier user interface.

I’m sorry, but you appear to be confused over the “Pro” name. If you are using EtreCheckPro, then that app has nothing whatsoever to do with Apple’s Mac App Store. EtreCheck in the Mac App Store is a different app. It is limited by the Mac App Store sandbox. This will prevent it from being able to directly remove some types of adware, but it will provide all of the assistance it can. EtreCheckPro does not have any sandbox limitations and can remove adware with the click of a button.

Both EtreCheck and EtreCheckPro are free apps. Adware removal is one of the features that is included in the free functionality for both apps. The Power User package will not provide any additional capabilities with respect to adware.

So far as finding the Power User Pkg to download, I don't get it.

The Power User package is an in-app purchase. There is no separate download to find. There are from 6 to 9 different places within the app to purchase to Power User package should you wish to do so. The next version of EtreCheck will add one additional place in the menu bar. The in-app purchase works the same way in both EtreCheck and EtreCheckPro. Aside from the technical sandbox restrictions mentioned above, the only real difference is which company, Apple or Paddle, processes your payment.

Thanks to EtreSoft, and especially BDAqua, & everyone else who contributed to finding the solution. For EtreSoft & anyone new trying to purchase the Power User Package, the ultimate solution was simply to click the purchase button that shows payment in Canadian dollars. Whichever payment method you use will automatically convert payment to U.S. dollars, in my case Chase VISA total charge $17.53. Will look forward to seeing the new EtreSoft method/addition for payment--hopefullly much easier to find & make pmt. EtreCheck/EtreCheckPro are certainly terrific diagnostics.

FWIW, the Power User Package is only available for EtreCheck Pro. It is not available for the App Store version.

Both versions of EtreCheck have the Power User package available as an in-app purchase. The two versions are more or less equivalent, especially when Full Drive Access is enabled. The purchase experience, licensing, and updates are all better in the Mac App Store. But EtreCheckPro is not restricted by the Mac App Store sandbox, so it is a little bit more powerful, especially for removing adware.

Unfortunately, there is some confusion over the “Pro” name. People often use it to mean the Power User package rather than the non-Mac App Store version. I had never even thought of someone using “PUP” to describe the Power User package. Writing software is easy compared to marketing and distributing it!

BDAqua, thanks for your persistence. I couldn't find what you showed until I clicked the highlighted "Major" or "Minor" problems links--then it came up. Unfortunately, apparently only Canadians paying w/Canadian dollars are privileged enough to

be able to buy the Power User Pkg on an easy/direct link basis. Have now emailed paddle.com to find out how I go about buying the package through them. Again, thanks for hanging in there & tracking down the start of a solution. I see a light at the end of the tunnel, and I've learned that even an old dog (like me) actually CAN learn a new trick, hopefully B4 I die....

Before I went to Apple Support Communities, I trashed the previous downloads for EtreCheck & downloaded the Pro version direct from EtreSoft.com. That's where it showed "purchases are handled by Paddle. Pulled up the Paddle website which appears only to be a platform for small business software resellers. Found nothing on the Paddle website allowing for direct

payment or download of the Power User Package. Thanks for the response.

Thanks for the response, but it does not solve the problem. 1) Full Drive Access does not come into play as I have not upgraded yet to Mojave (need to replace graphics card w/metal compatible card first). 2) Regardless of confusion over "Pro" name (I'm not confused over "Pro" name; have EtreCheckPro & looking to add Power User Package. 3) To keep it simple, suggest you go to the Apple AppStore & show me (provide me a link) where there is a button or ability to pay & download the Power User Package.

Or provide me the same on the EtreSoft website. Waiting with bated breath....

OK, at this point in time I am going to remove any/all versions of EtreCheck (drag to Trash). I will then go to the EtreSoft website & download the EtreCheckPro version. Then I will attempt to search thru every facet of that program & see if I can find the "place within the app to purchase the Power User package." And, assuming I can find it, I will come back to Support Communities/this

discussion and very happily tap the "This solved my question" button. Thanks for the response.

BDAqua: I have EtreCheckPro downloaded from the EtreSoft website. Is it any different from the download link you're showing @cloudfront? And I agree w/you: I have combed thru everything I can on my EtreCheckPro version and I can find NOTHING re the Power User Package. From the response from EtreSoft, I realized that I misunderstood the meaning of "inApp"; thought it meant I could it find the PUPkg at the App Store, so when I realized it actually meant "within the App itself", I again downloaded & updated from the EtreSoft website the most current version--(Version 5.1 (5A022). Nothing there that I can see. Thanks for the response.
