Keyboard letters rubbing off

I thought so to but a previous postings on this site showed a number of people with the same problem and coincidently the same letters. I am wondering what Apple is doing about it if anything.

I have a macbook pro 2012. My letters E A D N M and space bar are rubbing off to become white blobs.I have tried using the rubber letter protector but i really don't like the feel. I understand that this is a common problem even with the newer models. I have had other macbook pros in the past and have never had this issue. My husband's keyboard on his regular mac has no problem and is the same age. I am in the process of purchasing a new macbook pro. Is this something I should expect?

This seems like a rare occurrence even for a 2012; nor would I expect to see this on a new machine.
