Apple Watch Answered a Call While On Charger Without Input

I was traveling abroad. My Apple Watch series 4 was charging on the dresser across the room middle of the night. I hear a male voice across the room. It turns out it was coming from my watch. The watch answered the call without any input from me. How can this happen? More important, how can I prevent this?

Series 7 cellular Apple Watch received a call while no other devices received the call Series 6 cellular(AT&T) Apple Watch received a call while no other devices received the call. I’m wearing my series 2 watch sitting in front of my iPad and iMac. My series 6 cellular Apple Watch which is on a charger starts ringing with a number not in my contacts while no call is coming in on my other devices. Normally they ALL ring together when there is an incoming call. The spam caller calls back and again it rings ONLY on my series 6 cellular apple watch. I call the number with my iphone and get a message “press 1 if you live in CA, 2 if you do not live in CA”. I hang up. Clearly it was a spam call. I ask my wife to call me and ALL my devices light up announcing her call. Do spammers now have a hack to call my cellular Apple Watch with it’s unique phone number?

My Auto-Answer Calls is off.

Then try toggling the option on/off and see if the problem goes away.

The strange thig is that it had never happened before or after that one time. This led me to believe there was a bug somewhere.

Put down to a one off. Happens again take to an Apple Store for them to examine.
