siri says sorry I can't make that call using that number

Hi, I have an iPhone 6 and am in the UK. I tried to call home using Siri but it said it couldn't make the call using that number. I then changed the number in my contacts list as it had 00 44 the int. calling code in front, to just the national code, but it still won't do it however, it will call others in my contacts list. Anyone know why?

*82 designation I have always had a number blocker from my phone so people who I called couldn't see my number. I've always used *82 to remove the block and the person I called could then see my number. However just last week Siri could no longer dial the number when asked. If I manually select the number it works but not through Siri. Any helpful go arounds?

How do I make Siri always call one number to a contact with numerous numbers I need to have my wife call me with Siri to one number in an emergency without going through the ritual of choosing the right number. How do I do this
