My system takes too much space on Macbook pro Mojave os

I have Macbook pro 2018, 512 GB, OS Mojave (10.14.2)

System takes 148 GB of space, it's ridiculous!

What can I do to free up the space.

Side note, I have this macbook for 2 months and all my documents combined use 82 GB of space and apps another 22 GB. My trash can is always empty and there are no heavy old files I can delete.

Please help!
