Record Mouse-Cursor in Keynote Slideshow

I want to record the mouse-cursor movements [for calling attention & emphasis] WHILE recording a slideshow in Keynote [not merely showing a slideshow.]

OS 10.14.3

iMac late 2014

Keynote 8.3

I have tried Preferences > Slideshow > Show pointer when using the mouse or trackpad

Same problem noted in 2014. Has Apple not responded to make this possible yet?

[I'd prefer NOT to have to do a QTP screen recording, even tho I have a 27" Retina monitor. And I can't see that other software aux apps solve the problem.]

There is no inbuilt tool that can record the pointer in Keynote, I don't know of any Mac application that can do that without using video screen recording

Features that Keynote has that can as you put it "calling attention & emphasis" are:

the iPhone and iPad can be linked to a Mac during play, to control the presentation and can display a "red laser pointer" that can be moved as required
keynote effects can highlight and dim text, graphs, shapes and images on the slide
a pointer image can be displayed and animated

Tho I do not like your answer, I very much appreciate being able to stop fiddling and searching for a solution.

Getting authoritative help from folks like you is esp important to users like me because Apple publishes so little documentation for complex software - we need the 'village'!!
