what is the IDVD replacement

There isn't one. I know, I've tried every other DVD authoring program for the Mac. Nothing compares to the power and ease of use of iDVD. We have set up Macs "frozen" to OS 10.9.5 so we can keep using iDVD.

To be fair, there are DVD authoring programs that run under Macs current OS. However, the results are junior high school.

Whatever 3rd-party software you wish to use. There no longer is such an app as part of the iWork set or as part of macOS.
